Your security is important to us. Therefore, the personal data you share with us is carefully protected.

We, the Ministry of National Education, as the data controller, aim with this privacy and personal data protection policy to inform you about which of your personal data will be processed for which purposes, with whom and for what reasons the processed data may be shared, our data processing method and legal grounds, and what your rights are regarding your processed data.

Your Collected Personal Data, Collection Method and Legal Basis

Your identity (such as name, surname, date of birth), contact information (such as address, e-mail address, telephone, IP, location), personnel, social media, and visual and audio records will be processed by us via cookies and similar technologies, by automated or non-automated methods, and sometimes by being obtained from third parties such as analytics providers, advertising networks, search information providers and technology providers; they will be recorded, stored and updated on the basis of the legitimate interest processing condition within and for the duration of our service and contractual relationship. Access to the system will be possible only through a method that can be used by public institutions: via the Education Information Network (EBA) (https://www.eba.gov.tr/), which is offered by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education for all students and teachers and can be accessed by each user with their own username and password, or via the e-Government Gateway (https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/), through which all citizens of the Republic of Türkiye can receive services with their Turkish ID Numbers and passwords. In both types of login, your rights guaranteed by the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) are reserved.

Purpose of Processing Your Personal Data

Your personal data that you share with us will be processed and updated in a manner appropriate and proportionate to the purpose, during the term of the contract and service, in order to be able to conclude contracts with you so that you can benefit from our services, to fulfill in the best way the requirements of the services we provide and in accordance with the contracts between us, to ensure that you can exercise your rights arising from these contracts, to develop our products and services in line with your needs and to inform you of these developments, to bring you together with broader-scope service providers within legal frameworks, and to fulfill legal obligations (such as the sharing of personal data with judicial and administrative authorities upon request).

To Whom and For What Purposes the Collected Personal Data May Be Transferred

Your personal data that you share with us may be transferred, provided that the necessary technical and administrative measures are taken, to third parties, institutions and organizations in Türkiye and abroad with whom we receive and/or provide services, with whom we have a contractual relationship or cooperate, and to judicial and administrative authorities upon request.

Personal Data Retention Period

The Ministry stores the personal data it processes only for the period stipulated in the relevant legislation or, if no period is stipulated in the legislation, for as long as required by the purpose of processing the personal data. The retained personal data is deleted, destroyed or anonymized after the reasons requiring the processing of the data cease to exist.

Your Rights as a Person Whose Personal Data Is Processed

Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, everyone may apply to the data controller and exercise the following rights:

To learn whether personal data is being processed,

To request information if personal data has been processed,

To learn the purpose of the processing of personal data and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose,

To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred, whether domestically or abroad,

To request the correction of personal data if they are incompletely or incorrectly processed,

To request the deletion or destruction of personal data,

To request that the transactions carried out pursuant to subparagraphs (e) and (f) be notified to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,

To object to a result arising to the detriment of the person themself by means of analysis of the processed data exclusively through automated systems,

To demand compensation in case of damage due to unlawful processing of personal data.
